Nutmeg, who recently celebrated his 31st birthday, is not officially recognized as the world’s oldest cat.

This sweet cat is a contender for the title of the world’s oldest cat. It recently celebrated its 31st birthday, which is the equivalent of 141 human years.

Nutmeg, a stunningly magnificent cat, showed up one day in a garden and chose his owner. Roughly 25 years later. Two kind people, Ian and Liz Finlay, decided to keep the stray, who befriended their pet cat Spice.

The kitty had a health issue with a boil on her neck. When the owner took him to the clinic for treatment, he was told that Nutmeg was about five years old.

This makes this tabby kitten possibly the oldest cat in the world.

Unfortunately, the Guinness Book of World Records has yet to submit a birth certificate for this sweet cat. Nonetheless, they are still working on it.

Nutmeg became ill last year and suffered a major stroke. But, much to the surprise of even humans, this powerful cat made a full recovery and continues to rule the Finlay household to this day. Liz and Ian wonder how old their pet cat can live.

Nutmeg is a pampered cat who sometimes wakes his owners at 5:00 a.m. to beg for food, but that doesn’t mean they are obligated to love him.
