Young Boy Walks 2-Miles Alone To Save A Dying Puppy

A 13-year-old South African boy from Delft (one of the poorest communities in Cape Town) once walked two whole miles alone to save many cubs.

He noticed that his dog had stopped eating and was getting bloody diarrhea, so he stepped forward to ask for help.

He walked 2 miles into town to an animal rescue center to help care for local dogs and cats. An employee of the rescue organization, Stökigt, said:

“She was very thin, so the boy told us he didn’t have enough money to buy food for her. We told him we would try our best to save her life and find an alternative home that could take care of her. We thanked him for bringing her to us for help.”

It turned out that the puppy, named Nanook, had been stricken with a deadly disease, parvovirus, and without treatment, he or she would not have survived.

To cheer Nanook up, the shelter’s other foster kittens visit her regularly.

“I think it’s a mix of kittens when one of us is around her all the time, giving her love and support…” said Stokigt. Rescuers are preparing a home full of love for Nanook.

If she didn’t get food, Nanook would die.

Now, Nanook is now struggling to find a forever home!
